Naturally, My Cat.

I haven't posted in almost a month. I guess my mind has been elsewhere.

I figure the best way to start back up is to post about my cat.

I went with my friend Lainie and picked strawberries at a local farm. When I came home Clyde wasn't interested with the actual fruit, but was very intrigued by the green-y bits. He spent a long time picking which ones to grab, he especially liked the ones with long stems. Sooo cute.

PEEKING out the window.

GOODBYE ROCHESTER! (at least for a bit)
Pictures from the lovely Joi

My father welcomed me home with a Waffle House breakfast. I, as always, ordered too much forgetting I'm NOT a college-age boy.

Our local Home Depot is home to an owl family. (This is their fifth year living there, smart owls.)
The babies are all covered in downy feathers still. :D It was windy the day I went to see them they were cuddled up together. ADORABLE.

Also, re-found my Jellies.
That's right. I'm 8 years old.

Two hours short of being awake for 24 hours...

(this should have been posted at 5 this morning but the airport internet vanished)

I somehow survived through finals and made it to the airport.
Downside: I forgot my headphones, and in order to not spend $30... i've gone a little old school:

I forgot how horribly these fit. We've been spoiled by technology, boys and girls.

Oh, and YES there is tape holding this together. I think I may have been swindled by a friendly Indian woman. But... $8.

See you kiddies in Colorado.

P.S. This is what 24 hours awake looks like. just fyi.

P.P.S.
They treat you so much better at airports in heels. AND I got winked at.

So I made the mistake of organizing my recipe bookmarks tonight.
Now ALL I want to do is cook.

Here are my goals:

1) Beef Stew (here) Or something similar. Probably improv a bit.
This is happening SOON. Pay day's on Friday
.
Also, preferably with some pasta inside!

2) Mexican Sweet Rice Drink. I think this is the same drink my elementary school best Friend Dominique's family made. I've been dreaming about it for years. We LOVED it. (here)

3) Homemade Bagels. My friend Meg has been making these pretty frequently. Thought I should get in the game. Plus: YUM. (here)

4) Lemon-Vodka Cream Pops: enough said. It's going to be summer soon! (here)

5) Homemade Granola (here) I've wanted to do this for a long time.

6) Chicken and Artichoke in a wine sauce. (here) I start drooling just looking at this!

7) Hot Spinach Dip (here) oh, and a hot artichoke dip. But I'll have to steal that from my lovely friend Genevieve.

Needless to say, I'm gonna need a raise just to cook all this!

(all the images are from the blogs the recipes are from)

What have I been up to?

Well, firstly there's my creepy clown... (color looks awful on here)

Recently, my friend Jeremy and I have decided to do a trade. I give him some cool portraits for his website, and shoot some of his awesome work... and he fixes my horrible, horrible website! YAY!!

His back side :)

My 50's house wife casserole dish...

Aaaaand my first time really ever photographing glass.

(Gonna go back in Thursday, Friday or Saturday and shoot something more interesting w/glass)

(all images © Michelle Jane Marshall 2010, obviously)

Nothing too exciting... but I've been trying a lot of new stuff lately, and that's been fun.

And last but not least? Helping out the ever-exploring and imaginative Joi with some under water test- shooting.

Hello Blog World

It's been a while. Mid-quarter busy-time has set in!

What have I been up to, you ask?
a lot.

The second week of the quarter Ben & I took a quick trip to his parents house in New Hampshire to celebrate his birthday (and get me away from campus for a bit.) In that weekend I both climbed outdoors and went skiing! Don't you love spring?

(Climbing pictures coming soon... I can't find my camera)
but

My first day skiing:

Me w/my short beginner skis...

Learning from the best... (Ben's dad!!)

Ski Lift! I managed to do this the majority of the time without incident!

View from the top :) We have pictures of me with all the boys... but Ben hasn't surrendered them to me yet!

And then:
MY PARENTS VISITED!!

Here we are at Niagara Falls :)

Me & Mom

My dad & I

Mom & I braving the freezing cold mist to see the Canadian Falls up close!

<3 I miss them lots! But it was lovely to have them here.

Thanks Mom

I was talking to my mom about how Clyde seriously acts autistic sometimes...

Two weeks later... this arrives in the mail.

From my mom.

:D

Here's a little photographic synopsis of my last few days:

Ben turned 21!

And the last few (fun) days of cat sitting.

Today is the first day of classes for spring quarter. (and hopefully I don't jinx it but... It's looking awful spring-like outside!)

I'm up earlier than I need to be, can't decide if I want to go for a walk or go back to bed!!

Wish my luck for my first day!
